
Instructor - Genetics Counselor
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for a Genetics Counselor Instructor to join our team of passionate and knowledgeable healthcare professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for providing genetic counseling services to a variety of patients to help them understand and manage the implications of genetic conditions or risk. We are looking for an experienced genetics counselor who is committed to providing compassionate care with a patient-centered approach. The ideal candidate for this role should have a Master's degree in genetic counseling, be board certified or board eligible, and have at least two years of experience in the field. Additionally, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers is essential. We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to advancing the field of genetic counseling. Responsibilities:
- Provide genetic counseling services to patients to help them understand and manage the implications of genetic conditions or risk
- Maintain board certification or board eligibility
- Utilize excellent communication skills to collaborate with other healthcare providers
- Stay up to date with the latest advances in the field of genetic counseling
- Educate patients and their families about genetic conditions and management strategies
- Develop individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
- Monitor patient progress to ensure positive outcomes
