
Infection Preventionist
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist to join our team. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention and control policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to public health. At a minimum, the ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, epidemiology, or a related field; a current Registered Nurse license; and at least three years of experience in an infection control role. Knowledge of principles of epidemiology and infection control and a working knowledge of infection control regulations and standards is preferred. The successful candidate will have a passion for protecting the safety of our patients and staff through the implementation of effective infection prevention and control measures. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain records of infection prevention and control activities.
- Monitor infection prevention and control activities and conduct quality assurance reviews.
- Provide education and training to patients, staff, and the public about infection prevention and control measures.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on infection trends and other related topics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to infection prevention and control.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor the effectiveness of infection prevention and control measures.
- Participate in investigations and reviews of infection incidents.
- Respond to emergency situations or outbreaks of infectious disease.
