Job Description

Welcome to the University of Louisville's Social Worker position! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our students. As a Social Worker, you will have the opportunity to work closely with students from diverse backgrounds, providing support and resources to help them navigate personal and academic challenges.   1. Provide direct counseling and support services to students from diverse backgrounds.
  2. Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  3. Conduct initial assessments and create individualized care plans for students.
  4. Collaborate with campus departments and community resources to connect students with necessary resources.
  5. Utilize a trauma-informed approach and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with students.
  6. Stay up-to-date on mental health and social justice issues, and incorporate this knowledge into practice.
  7. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  8. Advocate for students and promote social justice and equity on campus.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student interactions and progress.
  10. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff, providing education and consultation on mental health and social justice topics.
  11. Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set by the National Association of Social Workers.
  12. Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in all interactions.
  13. Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
  14. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
  15. Participate in university events and initiatives related to student well-being and mental health.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree In Social Work (Msw) From An Accredited Program.

  • Valid Licensure As A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Lcsw) In The State Of Kentucky.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Social Work, Preferably In A University Or Higher Education Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Social Work Principles, Practices, And Ethics.

  • Strong Communication, Interpersonal, And Problem-Solving Skills With A Demonstrated Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations.
