Welcome to the University of Florida! We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Postal Associate I to join our team. As a Postal Associate I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of mail and packages across our campus.   1. Receive and sort incoming mail and packages, ensuring accurate and timely distribution.
  2. Process outgoing mail and packages, including weighing, labeling, and arranging for pick-up or delivery.
  3. Maintain inventory of postage stamps, shipping supplies, and other postal materials.
  4. Assist in tracking and tracing packages, ensuring their safe and timely arrival.
  5. Communicate with campus departments and external partners to resolve any delivery issues or concerns.
  6. Maintain accurate records and logs of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  7. Operate postal equipment, such as postage meters, envelope sealers, and mail sorting machines.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to all individuals utilizing postal services on campus.
  9. Assist with training and supervising student workers and other team members.
  10. Follow all postal regulations and procedures to ensure compliance and security.
  11. Keep work area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  12. Proactively identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions to enhance efficiency and customer service.
  13. Adhere to University policies and procedures, including confidentiality and security protocols.
  14. Attend departmental meetings and trainings as required.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Postal Supervisor or Manager.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Postal Associate I At University Of Florida Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Customer Service Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Customer Service, Preferably In A Retail Or Mailroom Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Postal Regulations And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Usps Regulations, As Well As Experience With Shipping And Receiving Procedures.

  • Strong Computer Skills: A Postal Associate I Should Be Proficient In Using Computer Software Programs Such As Microsoft Office And Have Experience With Shipping And Tracking Software.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Essential Qualities For A Postal Associate I, As They Will Be Responsible For Processing And Handling Large Volumes Of Mail And Packages.
