
Environ Health & Safety Coordinator I

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and sustainability on campus.
- Provide training and education to faculty, staff, and students on safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all safety-related activities and incidents.
- Conduct investigations and root cause analyses for any safety incidents or near misses.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on all relevant environmental health and safety regulations and ensure compliance.
- Develop emergency preparedness plans and procedures and coordinate drills and exercises as needed.
- Communicate safety information and updates to the campus community through various channels.
- Respond to and address any safety concerns or issues raised by members of the campus community.
- Collaborate with local and state agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and to participate in any necessary reporting or permitting processes.
- Participate in the development of the department's budget and assist with procurement of necessary safety equipment and supplies.
- Serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and students on all matters related to environmental health and safety.
- Continuously assess and improve safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all members of the university community.
A Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Or A Related Field.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Health And Safety Role, Preferably In A University Or Research Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Environmental Health And Safety, Including Osha And Epa Standards.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Educate Employees On Safety Procedures.
Familiarity With Safety Equipment And Procedures, Including Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, And Emergency Response Protocols.
