- Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy for the College of Medicine in line with the institution's mission and goals.
- Lead and manage all fundraising efforts, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, and special campaigns.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, alumni, and key stakeholders to promote philanthropic support and engage them in the mission of the College of Medicine.
- Develop and maintain a prospect portfolio, identifying and cultivating potential major donors.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to identify funding priorities and create compelling cases for support.
- Plan and execute fundraising events and initiatives to engage donors and raise awareness of the College of Medicine.
- Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to development staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth.
- Utilize data and analytics to track progress, analyze trends, and inform future fundraising strategies.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in development and philanthropy to enhance the effectiveness of fundraising efforts.
- Represent the College of Medicine and its development efforts to external stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community partners.
- Collaborate with other departments and units within the university to maximize fundraising opportunities and promote a culture of philanthropy.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of donor interactions and contributions, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Uphold the university's policies and procedures related to fundraising, gift acceptance, and donor recognition.
- Act as an ambassador for the College of Medicine, promoting its mission, values, and impact to internal and external audiences.
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Fundraising And Development, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry And The Ability To Connect With Potential Donors In The Medical Field.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Business, Communications, Or Marketing. Advanced Degree Preferred.
Proven Track Record Of Successful Major Gift Solicitations And Ability To Secure Significant Donations For The College Of Medicine.
Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Build Relationships With Donors, Faculty, And Staff.
