- Maintain and improve library systems to ensure seamless access to resources for students and faculty.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in library systems to continuously enhance the academic experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to identify and address their needs and provide solutions through library systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to library systems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement training programs for library system users to ensure efficient usage and understanding of available resources.
- Conduct regular system audits and make recommendations for improvements to optimize system performance.
- Manage system upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to users and data.
- Communicate with vendors and negotiate contracts to obtain the best possible pricing and services for library systems.
- Create and maintain documentation and user guides for library systems, ensuring ease of use for all users.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate library systems with other university systems and platforms.
- Monitor and analyze usage data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions for system improvements.
- Stay informed on copyright and licensing regulations to ensure compliance within library systems.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
- Provide excellent customer service to all library system users and promptly address any issues or concerns.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for library systems to support the overall academic mission of the university.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Systems, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working With Library Systems, Such As Integrated Library Systems (Ils) And Discovery Platforms.
Strong Knowledge Of Library System Architecture, Protocols, And Standards, Such As Marc, Oai-Pmh, And Z39.50.
Experience With Troubleshooting And Resolving Technical Issues Related To Library Systems And Databases.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Library Staff And It Teams To Implement And Maintain Library Systems.
