  1. Provide exceptional customer service to surgical patients and their families, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
  2. Assist in the coordination and scheduling of surgical procedures, including pre-operative preparations and post-operative follow-up appointments.
  3. Serve as a liaison between patients, their families, and the surgical team, ensuring clear communication and timely updates.
  4. Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including medical history, consent forms, and other necessary documents.
  5. Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and efficient patient care.
  6. Assist with patient registration and insurance verification processes.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels are always available.
  8. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during their surgical journey, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
  10. Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction and overall experience by actively seeking feedback and implementing suggestions for improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Role Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Hospital Or Clinic Setting, Preferably In A Surgical Department, Will Be Highly Valued. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Knowledge Of Healthcare Processes And Familiarity With A Clinical Environment.

  • Strong Organizational And Communication Skills: As A Surgical Patient Services Assistant, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Coordinating Patient Appointments, Maintaining Patient Records, And Communicating With Multiple Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Organizational And Communication Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: This Is A Prn (As-Needed) Position, Which May Require The Candidate To Work Different Shifts And Weekends. The Candidate Should Be Willing And Able To Work A Flexible Schedule To Meet The Needs Of The Department.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Software And Technology: Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems And Other Medical Software Will Be Beneficial In This Role. The Candidate Should Also Be Comfortable Using Basic Office Equipment Such As Computers, Printers, And Scanners.
