This role is crucial to ensuring the financial integrity of our organization, as you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for grants and pledges.   1. Manage and oversee all accounting and financial reporting related to grants and pledges within the organization.
  2. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data related to grants and pledges.
  3. Collaborate with the Grants and Pledges team to develop and maintain budget and reporting processes.
  4. Monitor and track expenses and revenues related to grants and pledges, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  5. Prepare financial statements and reports for presentation to senior management and external stakeholders.
  6. Stay up-to-date with accounting standards and regulations related to grant accounting and reporting.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with funding agencies and donors, providing timely and accurate financial information as needed.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline and increase efficiency in grant and pledge accounting and reporting.
  9. Assist with the preparation of grant proposals and applications, providing financial expertise and support.
  10. Train and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of grant and pledge accounting practices.
  11. Support the organization's mission and values, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in healthcare.
  12. Adhere to all internal policies and procedures, as well as external regulations and compliance requirements.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and teams within the organization to ensure effective communication and coordination of financial information.
  14. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and systems, promoting efficiency and accuracy in grant and pledge accounting and reporting.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance: A Senior Accountant, Grants And Pledges At University Of Chicago Medicine Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Accounting Or Finance.

  • Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Designation: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Cpa Designation, Which Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Accounting Principles And Practices.

  • Experience In Grant And Pledge Accounting: The Senior Accountant Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Grant And Pledge Accounting, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Non-Profit Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Gaap And Non-Profit Accounting Standards: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And Non-Profit Accounting Standards To Ensure Compliance With Financial Reporting Requirements.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Role Of A Senior Accountant, Grants And Pledges Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Financial Data And Identify Discrepancies Or Errors. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Effectively Perform This Task.
