- Provide high-quality patient care in the operating room setting, adhering to best practices and standards of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to anticipate and respond to patient needs during surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with positioning and preparation for surgery.
- Administer medications and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Document patient care and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in the operating room, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support as needed.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest advancements in surgical procedures and techniques.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families during challenging and stressful situations.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and communicated to the healthcare team.
- Act as a mentor to new staff members and assist with their training and development.
- Take part in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of medical research.
Bls And Acls Certifications.
Active Rn Licensure In The State Of Illinois, With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Perioperative Nursing.
Current Certification In Perioperative Nursing (Cnor) Or Willingness To Obtain Within 6 Months Of Employment.
Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Adapt To Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Situations.
Availability To Work 12-Hour Shifts On Weekends, With The Flexibility To Cover Additional Shifts As Needed.
