  1. Administer Anesthesia: As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), you will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This includes assessing patient needs, selecting the appropriate type and dosage of anesthesia, and monitoring the patient's condition throughout the procedure.
  2. Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety: The primary responsibility of a CRNA is to ensure the comfort and safety of the patient during and after surgery. This includes closely monitoring vital signs, managing pain levels, and addressing any complications that may arise during the administration of anesthesia.
  3. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: CRNAs work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement an effective anesthesia plan for each patient. This requires strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  4. Maintain Accurate Records: It is essential for a CRNA to maintain accurate and detailed records of each patient's anesthesia plan and the administration of anesthesia. This includes documenting pre-operative assessments, anesthesia medications used, and the patient's response to anesthesia.
  5. Stay Up-to-Date on Best Practices: As a CRNA, you will be expected to stay current on the latest research, technology, and best practices in anesthesia care. This includes attending continuing education courses and conferences, as well as staying informed on any changes in regulations or guidelines.
  6. Communicate with Patients and Families: CRNAs are responsible for explaining the anesthesia process to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have, and providing information on post-operative care.
  7. Adhere to Safety Protocols: In addition to ensuring patient safety, CRNAs must also adhere to safety protocols for themselves and the healthcare team. This includes following proper infection control procedures, adhering to medication safety guidelines, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nurse Anesthesia From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Certification As A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Crna).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In A High-Volume Facility.

  • Active And Unrestricted Rn And Aprn Licenses In The State Of Illinois.

  • Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Administering Anesthesia And Managing Patients During Surgical Procedures.
