We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate medication therapy to our inpatient population.   1. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience at the pharmacy.
  2. Support the mission of the University of Chicago Medicine by delivering safe, effective, and compassionate medication therapy.
  3. Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to accurately and efficiently prepare and dispense medications.
  4. Maintain inventory levels and assist with medication ordering and stocking.
  5. Accurately and promptly process medication orders and prepare prescriptions for inpatient use.
  6. Monitor and maintain proper storage and handling of medications in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
  7. Perform pharmaceutical calculations and measurements to ensure accurate dosing.
  8. Maintain clean and organized work areas, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care and contribute to a positive work environment.
  11. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other educational opportunities.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  13. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth to enhance job performance.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy management.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Certification From An Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, Such As The Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Designation From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).

  • Experience: Previous Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Inpatient Setting, Preferably At A Hospital, Would Be Highly Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations, Including Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Iv Compounding.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In An Inpatient Pharmacy Setting, Where Medications Are Dispensed And Administered To Patients. The Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols And Procedures.

  • Communication And Teamwork: As A Member Of The Healthcare Team, The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure Safe And Effective Medication Use For Patients.
