- Dispense investigational drugs to patients participating in clinical trials and research studies.
- Prepare and package investigational drugs in accordance with strict regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all investigational drugs and their distribution.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure proper drug selection and dosing for each patient.
- Monitor drug inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock for ongoing studies.
- Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Provide support and guidance to other pharmacy staff, including training and mentoring new technicians.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication use and patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and stay updated on new developments in investigational drug services.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Act as a resource for patients and their families, answering their questions and addressing any concerns related to investigational drugs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of investigational drug services.
- Assist with the management of investigational drug budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and institutional requirements related to investigational drugs.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent the University of Chicago Medicine in a positive manner at all times.
Extensive Knowledge Of Investigational Drug Services - A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Investigational Drug Services, Including Regulations, Protocols, And Best Practices. This Knowledge Will Be Essential For Ensuring The Safe And Effective Handling Of Investigational Drugs At The University Of Chicago Medicine.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) - A Cpht Certification Is A Must-Have For An Advanced Pharmacy Technician In An Investigational Drug Services Role. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Knowledge In The Field, And Is Highly Valued By Employers.
Previous Experience In Investigational Drug Services - Prior Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Hospital Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle Investigational Drugs And Work Within The Complex Regulatory Framework Surrounding Them.
