  1. Monitor and interpret patient data using telemetry equipment.
  2. Provide real-time updates to the medical team regarding changes in patient condition.
  3. Ensure the safety and well-being of patients by identifying and reporting any abnormalities or concerns.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement appropriate care plans.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient data and interventions.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest technology and equipment used in telemetry monitoring.
  8. Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail in identifying and addressing potential issues.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Provide support and training to new telemetry monitoring techs, as needed.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy at all times.
  12. Attend educational and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to telemetry monitoring.
  13. Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  14. Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  15. Display a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times.
  16. Act as a patient advocate and promote a culture of patient-centered care.
  17. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The First Requirement For A Telemetry Monitoring Tech Position At Uc San Diego Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows A Basic Level Of Education And Ability To Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Certified Cardiovascular Technician (Cct) Or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (Crat): Uc San Diego Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained Certification As A Cct Or Crat. This Certification Indicates A Higher Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Monitoring Cardiac Rhythms And Interpreting Telemetry Data.

  • Previous Experience In A Medical Icu Setting: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have Previous Experience Working In A Medical Icu. This Experience Demonstrates A Familiarity With The Equipment And Procedures Involved In Monitoring Patients In Critical Care Settings.

  • Knowledge Of Ekg Interpretation And Understanding Of Basic Cardiac Rhythms: A Thorough Understanding Of Ekg Interpretation And Basic Cardiac Rhythms Is Essential For A Telemetry Monitoring Tech. This Knowledge Allows For Accurate Interpretation Of Telemetry Data And Prompt Recognition Of Any Changes Or Abnormalities In A Patient's Cardiac Status.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Telemetry Monitoring Tech, Collaboration With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team Is Crucial. The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Staff Members Is Essential For Providing Quality Patient Care.
