  1. Provide exceptional patient care: The Sr Physician Assistant will be responsible for delivering high-quality and compassionate care to patients, adhering to all medical protocols and standards.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team: The Sr Physician Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  3. Conduct patient assessments: The Sr Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories, conducting physical exams, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  4. Develop and implement treatment plans: The Sr Physician Assistant will work with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications and providing education on self-care and disease management.
  5. Monitor patient progress: The Sr Physician Assistant will regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of patients, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  6. Document patient information: The Sr Physician Assistant will accurately and timely document all patient information, including assessments, treatments, and progress notes, in electronic medical records.
  7. Mentor and train junior staff: As a senior member of the Physician Assistant team, the Sr Physician Assistant will provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, including Physician Assistant students and new hires.
  8. Stay updated on medical advancements: The Sr Physician Assistant will stay informed on the latest medical advancements and participate in continuing education to improve knowledge and skills.
  9. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures: The Sr Physician Assistant will follow hospital policies and procedures, including infection control measures, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
  10. Represent the hospital: The Sr Physician Assistant will serve as a representative of the hospital and the University of California, San Diego healthcare system, upholding its values and mission in all interactions.
  11. Maintain licensure and certification: The Sr Physician Assistant will maintain active licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant and comply with all state and federal regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience As A Pa In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In A Specialty Hospital.

  • Strong Clinical Skills And Knowledge In The Selected Specialty Area (E.g. Critical Care, Oncology, Etc.).

  • Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
