- Provide exceptional care to patients in the East Campus Surgery department of the University of California, San Diego.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Utilize expertise and leadership skills to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic tests.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform surgical procedures under the supervision of a physician.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, procedures performed, and medications prescribed.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in the field of medicine and surgical procedures.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations, as well as university policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with patients and their families.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new physician assistants.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly stocked and maintained.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

A Minimum Of 4 Years Of Experience Working As A Physician Assistant In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
A Current California State Physician Assistant License And Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Demonstrated Expertise In A Wide Range Of Surgical Procedures, Including But Not Limited To General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, And Neurosurgery.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Extensive Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Patient Care Protocols, And Electronic Medical Record Systems, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Document Patient Encounters And Procedures.
