  1. Perform various massage techniques on clients, including Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, to promote relaxation and alleviate tension and stress.
  2. Utilize strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to identify and address specific areas of concern for clients.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly sanitized and stocked.
  4. Communicate effectively with clients to gather information about their needs and preferences, and provide recommendations for treatment plans.
  5. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, providing a welcoming and friendly environment for all clients.
  6. Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients at all times.
  7. Keep accurate records of client treatments and progress, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the wellness team to promote a holistic approach to health and wellness for the UC San Diego community.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and techniques, continuously expanding knowledge and skills to provide the best possible services.
  10. Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering a sense of community and teamwork among colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification And Licensure: The University Of California, San Diego Requires All Massage Therapists To Hold A Valid Certification From An Accredited Massage Therapy Program And A State License To Practice.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Massage Therapist Is Preferred, With Experience In A Clinical Or Healthcare Setting Highly Desirable.

  • Knowledge Of Anatomy And Physiology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Human Anatomy And Physiology, As Well As The Ability To Tailor Massage Techniques To Address Specific Medical Conditions.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Skills, Including Active Listening And Clear Verbal And Written Communication, Are Essential For Establishing Rapport With Clients And Collaborating With Healthcare Professionals.

  • Flexibility And Adaptability: The Role Of A Massage Therapist At Uc San Diego May Involve Working With Diverse Populations And Adapting To Various Treatment Environments. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Flexible And Able To Adjust Their Techniques Based On Individual Needs And Preferences.
