- Provide direct patient care, including conducting initial assessments, administering medications, and assisting with procedures as directed by the physician.
- Observe and document patient progress, symptoms, and vital signs, and communicate any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Educate patients on various aspects of women's health, including reproductive health, family planning, and prenatal care.
- Assist with patient education and counseling on medication, treatments, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including sterilizing equipment and stocking supplies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate with patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through attending trainings and workshops to stay current with OB/GYN nursing practices.
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards of practice.
- Provide support to physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care and coordination of services.
Valid Lvn License: The First And Most Important Qualification For An Lvn In An Ob/Gyn Clinic At Uc San Diego Is A Valid Lvn License Issued By The State Of California. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Completed The Necessary Education And Training To Perform The Duties Of An Lvn.
Specialization In Ob/Gyn: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Specialized Training Or Experience In The Field Of Obstetrics And Gynecology. This Will Ensure That They Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Procedures Of Patients In This Area.
Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records: The University Of California, San Diego Uses Electronic Medical Records To Manage Patient Information. Therefore, Proficiency In Using These Systems Is A Crucial Qualification For An Lvn In This Role.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Particularly In An Ob/Gyn Clinic, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Handle Patient Care And Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment.
