  1. Assist the Food Service Manager in overseeing and managing all aspects of the dining facilities at the University of California, San Diego.
  2. Ensure the smooth operation of the dining facilities by coordinating with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members.
  3. Maintain a high standard of customer service by responding to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies and ingredients are available for daily operations.
  5. Collaborate with the Food Service Manager to create and implement menus that meet the needs and preferences of the university community.
  6. Train and supervise new staff members, ensuring they understand and adhere to all food safety and customer service protocols.
  7. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure food quality, presentation, and service meet university standards.
  8. Assist in creating and managing budgets, including cost control measures to ensure efficient operations.
  9. Communicate effectively with the Food Service Manager and other team members to ensure a cohesive and productive work environment.
  10. Participate in special events and promotions to promote the dining facilities and enhance the overall dining experience for the university community.
  11. Handle any customer complaints or issues, resolving them in a professional and satisfactory manner.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve the dining facilities and services.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Food Service Or Hospitality Management, Preferably In A University Or Large-Scale Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Food Safety Regulations And Procedures, Including Servsafe Certification.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Supervise And Train Staff Effectively.

  • Proficiency In Computer Software Programs Such As Microsoft Office And Point-Of-Sale Systems.
