- Administering Anesthesia: The primary responsibility of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) will be to administer safe and effective anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Patient Assessment: The CRNA will be responsible for conducting thorough pre-operative assessments of patients to determine the appropriate type and dosage of anesthesia needed.
- Monitoring Patients: During procedures, the CRNA will closely monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Emergency Response: In the event of an emergency or adverse reaction to anesthesia, the CRNA will be responsible for quickly and effectively responding to stabilize the patient.
- Collaborating with Healthcare Team: The CRNA will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement an anesthesia plan that meets the specific needs of each patient.
- Maintaining Records: The CRNA will accurately document all procedures, medications, and patient responses in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensuring Compliance: The CRNA will adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures, related to anesthesia administration.
- Continuing Education: The CRNA will participate in ongoing education and training opportunities to maintain and enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.

- Maintaining Equipment and Supplies: The CRNA will ensure that all anesthesia equipment and supplies are properly maintained, stocked, and organized.
- Upholding Professional Standards: The CRNA will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, adhering to the highest ethical and legal standards of the nursing profession.
Master's Degree In Nursing: The University Of California, San Diego Requires All Crnas To Have A Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Program.
Active Crna Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid And Active Certification As A Crna From The National Board Of Certification And Recertification For Nurse Anesthetists (Nbcrna).
Current Rn License: Applicants Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of California.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience: The University Of California, San Diego Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Crna In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification: Crnas At Uc San Diego Must Hold A Current Certification In Acls From The American Heart Association.
