  1. Perform echocardiograms and other cardiac imaging procedures on patients of all ages using state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology.
  2. Ensure the highest quality patient care by following established protocols and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to accurately interpret and document test results.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures performed.
  5. Continuously develop and maintain knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and training.
  6. Educate and guide patients on the procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and comfortable experience for the patient.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  9. Act as a resource and mentor for junior staff members and students.
  10. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in the field of cardiac sonography.
  11. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare facilities to ensure continuity of patient care.
  12. Participate in research projects and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge in the field of cardiac sonography.
  13. Assist with quality control and assurance programs to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  15. Comply with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  16. Act as a representative of UC San Diego Health and promote our mission and values.
  17. Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction.
  18. Meet productivity standards and goals set by the department.
  19. Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops to stay informed and contribute to the improvement of the department.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field.

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Rdcs) Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Cardiac Sonographer, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge And Proficiency In Performing Echocardiograms, Stress Tests, And Other Cardiac Ultrasound Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Mentor Other Sonographers And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team.
