Job Description

The University of California, San Diego is now seeking a talented and experienced Bioinformatics Programmer to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical and biological expertise to help us advance medical science and improve human health.As the Bioinformatics Programmer, you will design and develop software tools to analyze and interpret complex biological data. You will also be responsible for the optimization of existing algorithms, the implementation of new algorithms, and the development of custom scripts for data processing and analysis.To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in bioinformatics, including experience with scripting languages, databases, and statistical software. You must also have experience with software development and system engineering principles, as well as the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. If you possess the combination of technical expertise, scientific knowledge, and communication skills necessary to succeed in this role, we welcome your application.
