
Research Finance Specialist
The University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center is looking for an experienced Research Finance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, forecasting, and analyzing financial information to support research operations. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can work independently, think critically, and collaborate with team members to ensure best practices are met. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and have a passion for finance and research.To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and at least three years of experience in a financial role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar financial systems is required. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support research operations
- Analyze financial information and prepare relevant reports
- Monitor and review research expenditures to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
- Identify financial risks and areas of potential cost savings
- Collaborate with research staff to ensure best practices are met
- Maintain financial records and provide guidance on financial matters
- Prepare and present financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft or similar financial systems
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with various stakeholders
- Remain up-to-date with trends and developments in the field of finance and research
