1. Provide exceptional patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
2. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in the Neuro ICU.
3. Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment, making adjustments as necessary.
4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
5. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and respond to changes in patient condition, including recognizing and reporting potential complications.
6. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
7. Educate patients and their families on their plan of care, including procedures, medications, and self-care techniques.
8. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills in the field of neurocritical care.
9. Serve as a resource and mentor to new graduate nurses, providing guidance and support as they transition into their roles.
10. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and overall unit performance.
12. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development, seeking out opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in the field of neurocritical care.
13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively and respectfully with team members and other hospital staff.
