Job Description

University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center is looking for an experienced and highly organized Operating Room Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to provide support to our surgical staff and ensure optimal patient outcomes. To be successful in this position, you must have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a surgical or operating room setting. You must also have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques. A successful Operating Room Assistant will also possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to work with a team as well as independently.We are eager to find a dependable and enthusiastic individual who can provide exceptional patient care and help our surgical staff provide the highest quality of care. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  2. Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques
  3. Maintain accurate patient records and documents
  4. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies when needed
  5. Assist with preparation of the operating room before and after surgeries
  6. Ensure proper sterilization of all equipment and instruments
  7. Manage patient flow and provide support to patients and their families
  8. Monitor vital signs and administer medications as needed
  9. Assist with post-surgical care and wound management
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care
