University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Nurse Educator for our High Risk Postpartum Unit. As a Nurse Educator, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise and knowledge to educate and support our nursing staff in providing excellent care to our high-risk postpartum patients. This is a unique and critical role that requires a strong leader with exceptional communication and teaching skills.   1. Develop and implement educational programs and resources for the nursing staff on the High Risk Postpartum Unit.
  2. Conduct training sessions and workshops on best practices for caring for high-risk postpartum patients.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that the nursing staff is up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and techniques.
  4. Evaluate the performance of the nursing staff and provide feedback and support to promote growth and improvement.
  5. Serve as a mentor and role model for the nursing staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  6. Stay current with industry standards and regulations related to high-risk postpartum care and incorporate this knowledge into training and education programs.
  7. Create and maintain educational materials and resources, including manuals, handouts, and online modules.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and resources to enhance the education and training provided to the nursing staff.
  9. Collaborate with the unit manager to identify and address any knowledge or skill gaps among the nursing staff.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide support to ensure evidence-based practices are implemented on the unit.
  11. Serve as a resource for the nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed in the care of high-risk postpartum patients.
  12. Maintain accurate records of training and education provided to the nursing staff.
  13. Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of high-risk postpartum care and share this information with the nursing staff.
  14. Collaborate with the unit manager to develop and implement policies and procedures related to high-risk postpartum care.
  15. Follow all safety protocols and ensure that the nursing staff is trained and compliant with safety measures.
  16. Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and other departments within the hospital to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  17. Participate in performance evaluations and contribute to the hiring and onboarding process of new nursing staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License And Master's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In High Risk Postpartum Nursing, Including Experience With Complex Medical Conditions And Complications

  • Certification As A Nurse Educator Or Willingness To Obtain Within The First Year Of Employment

  • Strong Clinical And Teaching Skills, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Educational Programs For A Diverse Group Of Learners

  • Excellent Communication, Leadership, And Organizational Skills, With A Commitment To Evidence-Based Practice And Continuous Learning And Improvement.
