Job Description

  1. Design and implement training programs for healthcare professionals on accurate and comprehensive documentation practices.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement in documentation.
  3. Develop educational materials and resources to support training initiatives.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and teams to ensure consistency in documentation practices.
  5. Provide ongoing education and support to healthcare professionals to address documentation deficiencies.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations related to documentation.
  7. Monitor and analyze documentation data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  8. Work closely with leadership to develop and implement strategies for improving documentation practices.
  9. Serve as a resource for healthcare professionals, answering questions and offering guidance on documentation best practices.
  10. Act as a liaison between healthcare professionals and coding/billing teams to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing and reimbursement purposes.
  11. Participate in meetings and committees to represent the documentation education initiatives.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the documentation training programs.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License: The Candidate Must Possess A Current And Active Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working.

  • Clinical Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Registered Nurse, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Clinical Documentation Guidelines: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Clinical Documentation Guidelines And Regulations, Including Those Set By Cms And Other Regulatory Bodies.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Clinical Documentation Educator Will Be Responsible For Educating And Training Healthcare Providers On Proper Clinical Documentation Practices. Therefore, Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Education Or Certification In Clinical Documentation Improvement: Candidates Who Have Completed A Formal Education Program Or Have Obtained A Certification In Clinical Documentation Improvement Will Be Given Preference. This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding And Commitment To This Field.
