We are currently seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our Star Ratings Analytics team. In this role, you will play a critical role in leveraging data and analytics to drive insights and improve the quality of our healthcare programs.   1. Conduct data analysis and develop predictive models to identify opportunities for improving healthcare programs and outcomes.
  2. Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract insights from large and complex datasets.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems and develop data-driven solutions.
  4. Develop and maintain data pipelines and databases to ensure accurate and timely delivery of data.
  5. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, including presentations and reports.
  6. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics, and apply them to improve processes and methodologies within the organization.
  7. Lead and mentor junior data scientists and analysts, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure alignment and collaboration on data initiatives.
  9. Ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies and regulations.
  10. Continuously monitor and evaluate data quality and integrity, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  11. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  12. Collaborate with IT teams to implement new data tools and technologies to enhance data capabilities.
  13. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to support the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
  14. Uphold the company's values and mission, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in data-driven decision making.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Statistical Analysis Skills: A Senior Data Scientist Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Statistical Methods And Be Able To Apply Them To Complex Data Sets. They Should Also Have Experience With Programming Languages Such As R, Python, Or Sql.

  • Experience In Healthcare Analytics: Unitedhealth Group Is A Leader In The Healthcare Industry, So Experience In This Field Is Highly Valued. A Senior Data Scientist Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Healthcare Data, Including Claims Data, Clinical Data, And Electronic Health Records.

  • Leadership And Project Management Experience: As A Senior Level Role, The Candidate Should Have Experience Leading And Managing Projects And Teams. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Stakeholders And Drive Projects To Completion.

  • Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Skills: A Senior Data Scientist Should Be Able To Identify Complex Problems And Develop Innovative Solutions Using Data Analytics. They Should Have A Strong Attention To Detail And Be Able To Think Critically To Analyze And Interpret Data.

  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field: Most Senior Data Scientist Positions At Unitedhealth Group Require A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Data Science, Statistics, Or Computer Science. A Phd Is Preferred For More Specialized Roles.
