  1. Develop and implement strategic plans for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare services in the assigned region.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other staff members.
  3. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  4. Oversee the development and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies.
  5. Collaborate with other regional medical directors and senior leadership to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  6. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the performance of healthcare programs and services, and make recommendations for enhancements or changes as needed.
  8. Provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of culturally competent and patient-centered care.
  9. Participate in the development and implementation of new healthcare initiatives and programs.
  10. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for healthcare providers and staff, addressing any questions or concerns related to clinical policies and procedures.
  11. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among team members.
  12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements, and best practices, and incorporate them into the company's healthcare strategies.
  13. Represent the company at conferences, meetings, and other events to promote and raise awareness of our healthcare services.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Regional Medical Director At Unitedhealth Group Must Hold A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Practices And Can Effectively Oversee Medical Operations Within The Region.

  • Board Certification: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Be Board Certified In A Relevant Medical Specialty, Such As Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Or Pediatrics. This Certification Demonstrates Their Expertise And Knowledge In Their Chosen Field.

  • Leadership Experience: Unitedhealth Group Is Seeking A Regional Medical Director With Previous Leadership Experience, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Managed Care Setting. This Includes Experience In Managing Teams, Implementing Operational Strategies, And Driving Results.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: The Regional Medical Director Will Be Responsible For Ensuring Compliance With All Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Healthcare. Therefore, A Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance Is Essential For This Role.
