- Develop and implement information security strategies and policies to protect the sensitive information of UnitedHealth Group's clients and members
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans
- Design, implement, and maintain security systems and protocols to safeguard the company's networks, applications, and data
- Monitor network and system activities for potential security breaches and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security requirements are integrated into all phases of the development and implementation process
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve the company's security posture
- Lead and mentor junior security engineers in best practices and procedures for information security
- Partner with external vendors and service providers to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
- Communicate and report on security initiatives and incidents to upper management and stakeholders
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning to ensure the availability of critical systems and data in the event of a security breach or disaster.
Extensive Knowledge Of Information Security: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Information Security Principles, Practices, And Technologies, Including Risk Management, Vulnerability Assessment, Intrusion Detection, And Incident Response.
Strong Technical Background: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Technical Background And Experience Working With A Variety Of Information Security Tools And Technologies, Such As Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, And Encryption Methods.
Leadership And Management Experience: As A Principal Engineer, This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Oversee A Team Of Information Security Engineers. Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In A Leadership Role, Including Managing Projects And Delegating Tasks.
