  1. Assist in filling and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
  2. Maintain a thorough understanding of various insurance plans and assist in processing claims and prior authorizations.
  3. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality and timely delivery of medication to patients.
  4. Maintain inventory and stock of medications, ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed.
  5. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  6. Adhere to all safety and quality standards in the pharmacy, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  7. Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and maintaining patient profiles.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on industry changes and advancements.
  9. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusivity.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure optimal patient care and medication management.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the pharmacy operations.
  13. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure compliance and maintain a high standard of quality care.
  14. Assist in training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians to ensure they are knowledgeable and proficient in their roles.
  15. Contribute to the overall success of the pharmacy and the company by actively promoting our mission and values in all interactions with patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Pharmacy Technician At Unitedhealth Group Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent. This Educational Requirement Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations And Procedures.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): Unitedhealth Group Prefers Candidates With A Cpht Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Competence In The Field Of Pharmacy.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Pharmacy Or Healthcare Setting Are Preferred. This Experience Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Can Handle The Fast-Paced Environment Of A Pharmacy.

  • Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: Pharmacy Technicians At Unitedhealth Group Are Required To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Pharmacy Technicians Are Responsible For Filling Prescriptions And Ensuring The Accuracy Of Medication Orders. Attention To Detail And A High Level Of Accuracy Are Crucial Qualifications For This Job To Prevent Errors And Ensure Patient Safety.
