  1. Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  3. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  4. Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
  5. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.
  6. Collect and process patient payments.
  7. Assist in resolving any billing or insurance issues.
  8. Educate patients on their healthcare benefits and available resources.
  9. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  11. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  12. Remain up-to-date on all company policies and procedures.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  14. Work as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  15. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Qualification Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For A Patient Services Representative Position At Unitedhealth Group.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Patient Services Representatives Are Required To Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Companies On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Customer Service Experience: As A Patient Services Representative, You Will Be The Primary Point Of Contact For Patients. Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Highly Desirable.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Terminology And Insurance Processes: A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Insurance Processes Is Crucial For A Patient Services Representative To Accurately Assist Patients With Their Inquiries And Claims.

  • Strong Computer Skills: Unitedhealth Group Utilizes Various Software And Systems For Patient Management And Billing. Proficiency In Microsoft Office And The Ability To Quickly Learn New Software Is Necessary For This Role.
