- Maintain and update accurate medical records for patients in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to medical record keeping.
- Oversee the management and organization of all physical and electronic medical records.
- Monitor and track patient information, including appointments, test results, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to obtain and update patient information as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with record requests from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers.
- Review records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency and make necessary corrections.
- Train and educate new staff members on medical record keeping procedures and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in medical records.
- Stay updated on industry changes and updates related to medical record keeping and implement changes as needed.
- Collaborate with IT department to ensure proper functioning of electronic medical record systems.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance record keeping processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certification As A Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Or Certified Professional In Health Information Management (Cphim).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Medical Records Management Or Health Information Systems.
Strong Knowledge Of Hipaa Regulations And Compliance.
Experience With Electronic Health Record Systems And Data Analysis.
