- Maintain and update accurate and confidential medical records for patients.
- Organize and file medical records in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate retrieval of medical records for patient appointments and other healthcare needs.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other team members to gather necessary information for medical records.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems and other technology to manage and organize medical records.
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, taking necessary steps to rectify any discrepancies.
- Assist with training and onboarding new staff members on medical record management procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless and efficient flow of medical records.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to medical record management.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary medical record supplies.
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of medical record requests.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers regarding medical record inquiries.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance medical record management processes.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certification As A Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Or Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Medical Records Administration Or Health Information Management.
Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems And Other Health Information Technology.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Medical Records Management, Such As Hipaa And Hitech.
