Job Description

  1. Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with cancer.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring for potential side effects and providing education to patients and their families.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress, including physical and emotional changes, and communicate any concerns or changes to the healthcare team.
  5. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing their fears, concerns, and questions about their illness and treatment.
  6. Educate patients and their families about cancer, treatment options, and potential side effects of treatments.
  7. Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments according to established protocols and guidelines.
  8. Assist with diagnostic procedures and tests, including blood draws and biopsies.
  9. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on advancements in oncology treatments and care.
  11. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and discussions to provide input and collaborate on patient care plans.
  12. Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients and healthcare team members.
  13. Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and their rights are respected.
  14. Provide guidance and support to LPN and nursing assistant team members, ensuring they are following established protocols and providing high-quality care.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, promoting a culture of compassion and dedication to patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Lpn License: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Lpn License In The State Where Unitedhealth Group Is Located.

  • Oncology Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Lpn In An Oncology Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Chemotherapy Protocols: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Chemotherapy Protocols And Be Able To Administer Treatments Safely And Accurately.
