- Conduct thorough reviews and audits of behavioral health coding processes to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement coding quality improvement strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on industry changes and regulations related to behavioral health services and coding.
- Train and educate coding team members on coding best practices and compliance requirements.
- Utilize coding expertise to ensure accurate and complete coding of behavioral health services.

- Communicate coding updates, changes, and compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders.

- Collaborate with healthcare providers and payers to resolve coding-related inquiries and concerns.
- Participate in coding audits and assist in the resolution of any identified discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of coding processes and procedures.
- Act as a subject matter expert on behavioral health coding for the organization.
- Adhere to all coding standards and compliance regulations at all times.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to improve coding processes and enhance overall quality and accuracy.
Coding Certification: A Qualified Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Coding Certification, Such As Certified Professional Coder (Cpc), Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs), Or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (Ccs-P).
Strong Knowledge Of Behavioral Health Coding: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Behavioral Health Coding Guidelines, Including Cpt, Icd-10, And Hcpcs Codes. They Should Also Be Familiar With Coding For Mental Health Disorders, Substance Abuse Disorders, And Other Behavioral Health Conditions.
Attention To Detail: As A Quality Analyst, Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure Accurate Coding And Billing. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Coding Errors Or Inconsistencies.
Experience In Quality Assurance: Unitedhealth Group Is Looking For A Candidate With At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Quality Assurance, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Experience In Coding Audits, Coding Compliance, And Coding Education.
Strong Communication Skills: The Behavioral Health - Coding Quality Analyst Will Be Responsible For Providing Feedback And Education To Coding Staff, Providers, And Other Stakeholders. Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role.
