  1. Conduct thorough reviews and audits of behavioral health coding processes to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement coding quality improvement strategies.
  3. Stay up-to-date on industry changes and regulations related to behavioral health services and coding.
  4. Train and educate coding team members on coding best practices and compliance requirements.
  5. Utilize coding expertise to ensure accurate and complete coding of behavioral health services.
  6. Analyze coding data and provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  7. Conduct regular quality checks to monitor and maintain the accuracy of coding processes.
  8. Communicate coding updates, changes, and compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders.
  9. Identify and report any potential compliance risks or issues related to coding processes.
  10. Collaborate with healthcare providers and payers to resolve coding-related inquiries and concerns.
  11. Participate in coding audits and assist in the resolution of any identified discrepancies.
  12. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of coding processes and procedures.
  13. Act as a subject matter expert on behavioral health coding for the organization.
  14. Adhere to all coding standards and compliance regulations at all times.
  15. Continuously seek out opportunities to improve coding processes and enhance overall quality and accuracy.

Job Qualifications
  • Coding Certification: A Qualified Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Coding Certification, Such As Certified Professional Coder (Cpc), Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs), Or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (Ccs-P).

  • Strong Knowledge Of Behavioral Health Coding: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Behavioral Health Coding Guidelines, Including Cpt, Icd-10, And Hcpcs Codes. They Should Also Be Familiar With Coding For Mental Health Disorders, Substance Abuse Disorders, And Other Behavioral Health Conditions.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Quality Analyst, Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure Accurate Coding And Billing. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Coding Errors Or Inconsistencies.

  • Experience In Quality Assurance: Unitedhealth Group Is Looking For A Candidate With At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Quality Assurance, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Experience In Coding Audits, Coding Compliance, And Coding Education.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Behavioral Health - Coding Quality Analyst Will Be Responsible For Providing Feedback And Education To Coding Staff, Providers, And Other Stakeholders. Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role.
