- Accurately review and assign appropriate medical codes to patient records according to coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation for proper coding.
- Stay up-to-date on coding guidelines, regulations, and changes in the healthcare industry.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of coded information and make any necessary corrections.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
- Communicate with team members and management regarding any coding discrepancies or issues.
- Meet coding productivity and accuracy standards set by the organization.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve coding skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all coding and billing regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with coding audits and provide feedback for improvement.
- Monitor and report on coding trends and potential coding issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate efficient and effective coding processes.
- Support the organization's mission and values by providing high-quality and accurate coding services.
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and ensure timely and accurate coding.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification Through The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc) Or Certified Coding Associate (Cca) Certification Through The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Physician Or Hospital Billing Department.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Proficiency In Coding Systems Such As Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Review And Accurately Code Complex Medical Records And Claims.
