Job Description

Are you a professional with an eye for international affairs? Do you have a passion for making a positive impact for students and educational organizations across the world? If so, the United States Department of Education (USDE) is looking for you to join our team as an International Affairs Specialist.In this role, you will have the opportunity to promote educational excellence around the world by leading USDE’s international activities and initiatives. You will be responsible for developing policy guidance, providing technical assistance, and forming relationships with foreign governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders.To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in international affairs, political science, economics, or a related field. You must also have at least one year of professional experience in international affairs, program management, or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in developing and managing international programs.If you are an ambitious and self-motivated individual with a commitment to making a difference in the international education space, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities: • Develop policy guidance for USDE’s international activities and initiatives • Provide technical assistance to foreign governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders • Form relationships with foreign governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders • Manage and develop international programs • Monitor international affairs and provide updates to USDE • Track and analyze international trends, developments, and potential risks • Collaborate with other government agencies to develop international programs • Assist with international negotiations and agreements • Research and analyze international data and reports • Prepare briefings and other documents for USDE leadership • Represent USDE in international meetings and forums
