Job Description

The United States Department of Education is looking for a talented and motivated Government Information Specialist to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is committed to providing excellent service and is passionate about working with government information. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven track record of success in a similar role. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the Department in the areas of public information, records management, and other government information-related activities.The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in library science, information systems, public administration or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role is also required. Additionally, strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people are essential for this position. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and services to the Department of Education in the areas of public information, records management, and other government information-related activities.
  2. Develop and maintain information management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  3. Research and analyze data to develop and evaluate solutions to inform decisions.
  4. Work with stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective use of government information resources.
  5. Create and disseminate informational materials and publications to ensure public awareness and understanding of government information.
  6. Monitor government information policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  7. Develop and recommend strategies to enhance the use of government information resources.
  8. Provide guidance and training to staff on the use of government information resources.
  9. Maintain and update records and databases for accuracy and completeness.
  10. Respond to public inquiries regarding government information services.
