Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Psychiatrist to join the United States Department of Defense team as a Physician. You will provide clinical services in support of the US DoD's mission to provide medical care to our nation's military members and their families. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat psychological and psychiatric disorders, including those related to combat stress, substance abuse, and mental health conditions. In addition, you will provide guidance to medical personnel on mental health issues related to military service.We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have an MD degree, board certification in psychiatry, and a valid medical license. Previous experience working with the military or veterans is highly desirable. Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, diagnose and treat psychological and psychiatric disorders in military members and their families.
  2. Provide clinical guidance to medical personnel on mental health issues related to military service.
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on evaluations.
  4. Create and maintain patient records, and provide reports, summaries, and recommendations to military personnel.
  5. Ensure the safety of patients and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  6. Participate in research activities to advance the field of psychiatry and mental health care for the military.
  7. Stay up-to-date on advances in the field of psychiatry and mental health care.
  8. Participate in continuing medical education and training activities.
