Job Description

The United States Department of Defense seeks an experienced and motivated Accounting Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong technical accounting skills and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be well-versed in financial and accounting software, and have a firm understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). If you have a passion for numbers and providing accurate financial information, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and reconcile financial records, accounts, and ledgers in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  2. Prepare financial statements, reports, and other documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Analyze and review financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  4. Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  5. Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
  6. Monitor cash flow and forecast future cash needs.
  7. Prepare and review journal entries and other accounting documents.
  8. Manage the payroll process and associated records.
  9. Assist in the preparation of financial audits.
  10. Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
