Job Description

The United States Department of Commerce is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to lead our Cybersecurity Division. The ideal candidate will have a passion for protecting and enhancing the security of our systems and data, and be highly knowledgeable in the areas of cybersecurity policies, strategies, and technologies. They will have a strong understanding of best practices, and the ability to effectively manage and lead a high-performance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization and make a meaningful impact in the field of cybersecurity.The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications: a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field; a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in management, cybersecurity, and/or information technology; and a strong commitment to excellent customer service. Additional qualifications include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and prior experience working in a governmental or military setting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, strategies, and technologies that protect and enhance the security of systems and data.
  2. Lead a high-performance team and effectively manage personnel and resources.
  3. Ensure customer service is of the highest standard and provide support and assistance to stakeholders.
  4. Monitor and analyze security threats and develop mitigation strategies.
  5. Develop training and awareness programs to educate personnel on cybersecurity best practices.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in the cybersecurity field.
  7. Work with other departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Assist with budgeting and resource planning.
  9. Foster and maintain positive relationships with external vendors and partners.
  10. Coordinate with other government agencies and military personnel to ensure the security of sensitive information.
