Job Description

The United States Department of Commerce is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Criminal Investigator. Responsibilities:

  1. Investigate criminal cases, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  2. Analyze evidence, conduct research, and prepare comprehensive investigative reports.
  3. Maintain accurate records of investigations, including case notes, evidence documents, and other investigative materials.
  4. Develop and implement creative strategies to investigate complex cases.
  5. Utilize forensic tools, databases, and other investigative resources to uncover facts and evidence.
  6. Utilize excellent communication and problem-solving skills to resolve cases.
  7. Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, community members, and other law enforcement professionals.
  8. Exercise sound judgment and discretion in conducting investigations, while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Remain up-to-date on criminal justice trends and changes in the law.
  10. Comply with all department policies and procedures.
