- Conduct thorough and accurate audits of the company's financial processes, including internal controls, to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Analyze financial data and transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain detailed audit plans and schedules, ensuring timely completion of all assigned audits.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner, highlighting areas of concern and proposing solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in auditing, and make recommendations for process improvements accordingly.
- Provide guidance and support to junior auditors, as needed.
- Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of risk management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and organized audit documentation and prepare reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Identify potential fraud or other financial irregularities and escalate them to the appropriate parties for investigation.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all audits and related activities.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance: A Senior Auditor At Unfi Should Possess A Strong Educational Background In Accounting Or Finance To Understand The Complexities Of Financial Statements And Audit Procedures.
Cpa Or Cia Certification: Candidates For A Senior Auditor Role Should Hold A Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Or Certified Internal Auditor (Cia) Certification To Demonstrate Their Knowledge And Expertise In Auditing.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Auditing: Unfi Requires Candidates For This Role To Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Auditing, Preferably In A Big 4 Accounting Firm Or A Similar Role In A Large Corporation.
Extensive Knowledge Of Gaap And Sox Regulations: The Senior Auditor Should Be Well-Versed In Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And Sarbanes-Oxley (Sox) Regulations To Ensure Compliance In The Company's Financial Reporting.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Senior Auditor Should Possess Excellent Analytical And Critical Thinking Abilities To Identify Potential Risks And Recommend Solutions To Improve The Company's Internal Controls And Processes.
