- Develop and lead the design direction for the Curry & Basketball line of footwear.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including athletes, product developers, and marketing, to ensure design aligns with brand and product goals.
- Conduct market research and stay current on industry trends to inform design decisions.
- Utilize innovative and creative thinking to develop unique and high-performing designs.
- Manage the full design process, from concept development to final product, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Create detailed technical sketches and specifications for production.
- Work closely with product developers to ensure designs are feasible for production and meet quality standards.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities, balancing design timelines and priorities with business objectives.
- Mentor and guide junior designers to foster their growth and development.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and innovate designs, processes, and techniques.
Extensive Experience In Footwear Design: A Sr. Footwear Designer At Under Armor Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Designing High-Performance Athletic Footwear, With A Focus On Basketball Shoes And More Specifically, The Curry Line.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Basketball And Sneaker Culture: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Sport Of Basketball And The Sneaker Culture Surrounding It. They Should Be Able To Identify Trends And Translate Them Into Innovative Designs That Appeal To Consumers.
Strong Technical Skills: A Sr. Footwear Designer Should Have A Strong Technical Background In Footwear Design, Including Knowledge Of Materials, Construction Techniques, And Manufacturing Processes. They Should Also Be Proficient In Design Software Such As Adobe Creative Suite And Have A Good Understanding Of 3D Modeling.
Creative And Innovative Mindset: Under Armor Is Known For Its Cutting-Edge Designs And Technology, And A Sr. Footwear Designer Should Be Able To Think Outside The Box And Come Up With New And Innovative Ideas For The Curry Line.
