As a Surgical Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our surgical department.   1. Schedule and coordinate all surgical procedures, including pre-operative consultations and post-operative follow-up appointments.
  2. Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless surgical experience.
  3. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
  4. Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and consent forms.
  5. Ensure that all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications are available for surgical procedures.
  6. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure proper patient positioning, surgical site preparation, and other necessary tasks are completed.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, and notify appropriate personnel when items need to be restocked.
  8. Facilitate communication between patients and their families, providing updates and answering questions regarding the surgical process.
  9. Assist in resolving any issues or concerns that may arise during the surgical process.
  10. Adhere to all HIPAA and patient confidentiality policies and regulations.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on surgical procedures and protocols.
  12. Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive and efficient surgical experience.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized surgical department, including exam rooms and waiting areas.
  14. Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the surgical team.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of UC Health by providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Surgical Scheduling Or Coordination.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Surgery.

  • Strong Organizational And Multitasking Skills.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Healthcare Professionals And Patients.
