
Registered Nurse Surgical First Assistant

- Perform surgical first assistant duties, including prepping and positioning patients, handling surgical instruments, and assisting with procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other members of the surgical team to ensure successful and safe outcomes for patients.
- Monitor patients closely during surgery and promptly report any changes in vital signs or other concerns to the surgeon.
- Maintain a sterile operating room environment, following all infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist with post-operative care, including dressing changes, wound care, and monitoring for any potential complications.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and follow-up instructions.
- Document all procedures, interventions, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and their rights are respected.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical and legal standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Act as a resource and mentor for other members of the surgical team, including nurses, surgical technologists, and students.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote best practices.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Colorado
Certification As A Surgical First Assistant (Cst/Cfa) Through Accredited Program
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Operating Room Experience As A Surgical First Assistant
Knowledge And Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instrumentation, And Equipment
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment While Maintaining Focus And Attention To Detail.
