  1. Perform surgical first assistant duties, including prepping and positioning patients, handling surgical instruments, and assisting with procedures.
  2. Collaborate with surgeons and other members of the surgical team to ensure successful and safe outcomes for patients.
  3. Monitor patients closely during surgery and promptly report any changes in vital signs or other concerns to the surgeon.
  4. Maintain a sterile operating room environment, following all infection control and safety protocols.
  5. Assist with post-operative care, including dressing changes, wound care, and monitoring for any potential complications.
  6. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and follow-up instructions.
  7. Document all procedures, interventions, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  9. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and their rights are respected.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical and legal standards.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Act as a resource and mentor for other members of the surgical team, including nurses, surgical technologists, and students.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote best practices.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Colorado

  • Certification As A Surgical First Assistant (Cst/Cfa) Through Accredited Program

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Operating Room Experience As A Surgical First Assistant

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instrumentation, And Equipment

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment While Maintaining Focus And Attention To Detail.
