- Greet and welcome patients and their families in a friendly and professional manner.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently.
- Schedule appointments for patients, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure all necessary forms and documents are completed and signed by patients.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients regarding appointments, insurance, and general questions about UC Health.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and services.
- Assist patients with the registration process and provide them with necessary information and instructions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or concerns raised by patients related to their access to care.
- Update and maintain accurate records of patient information in the electronic medical system.
- Communicate any changes or updates in patient information to the appropriate departments.
- Attend training and educational sessions to stay current on policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns in a timely and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient insurance claims.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on ways to improve the patient access process.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Access Specialist At Uc Health Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate A Basic Level Of Education.
Customer Service Experience: As A Patient Access Specialist, The Candidate Must Have Prior Experience In Customer Service Or A Related Field To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Handle Their Inquiries.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Procedures And Regulations: The Candidate Must Possess Knowledge Of Healthcare Procedures And Regulations To Ensure Accuracy In Patient Registration And Insurance Verification.
Proficiency In Computer Systems: The Job Requires The Candidate To Be Proficient In Using Computer Systems And Electronic Medical Records To Accurately Input Patient Information And Navigate Different Databases.
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills: A Patient Access Specialist Should Have Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Coworkers, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Professional And Empathetic Manner.
