- Greet and welcome patients and their families in a warm and friendly manner.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Enter patient information into the electronic medical record system with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Provide clear and thorough explanations of registration processes and procedures to patients.
- Answer phone calls and respond to voicemails promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with other departments and staff to ensure a smooth registration process for patients.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Address patient concerns and resolve any issues that may arise during the registration process.
- Work closely with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Keep accurate records of patient interactions and follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements for the registration process.
- Attend trainings and stay up-to-date on all policies and procedures related to patient registration.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Patient Access Registration Specialist At Uc Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Knowledge And Skills In Areas Such As Math, Communication, And Computer Literacy.
Previous Experience In Healthcare Registration: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Registration Role, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of The Registration Process And Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Insurance Procedures.
