- Provide critical medical assistance to patients in need during emergency situations.
- Remain calm and composed under pressure, while effectively communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to ensure timely and accurate delivery of emergency care.
- Assess patients' condition and prioritize treatment based on the severity of their injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support techniques and provide initial care to stabilize patients.
- Monitor and record vital signs, update patient charts, and report any changes or concerns to the medical team.
- Assist with transportation of patients to the appropriate department or facility for further treatment.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including restocking supplies and equipment.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge in emergency care.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.

Current Emt Certification: The Ideal Candidate For An Emt I Position At Uc Health Should Possess A Current And Valid Emt Certification From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Demonstrates Their Knowledge And Skills In Providing Emergency Medical Care.
Experience In Emergency Medical Services: Prior Experience Working In Emergency Medical Services, Such As In An Ambulance Or Emergency Room Setting, Is Highly Desirable For An Emt I Role At Uc Health. This Experience Helps The Candidate To Quickly Assess And Respond To Emergency Situations.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For An Emt I, As They Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Calmly With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In High-Stress Situations. The Ability To Communicate In Multiple Languages Is Also Beneficial.
Physical And Mental Fitness: Emergency Medical Services Can Be Physically And Mentally Demanding.
